Due to the Coronavirus, the ESA has officially canceled the year’s E3.
The ESA, which is responsible for putting on the annual convection has shared the news.
Companies like Xbox and Ubisoft have already made plans to hold digital events. Details and the dates are still unknown.
“After careful consultation with our member companies regarding the health and safety of everyone in our industry, our fans, employees, exhibitors, and our longtime E3 partners we have made the difficult decision to cancel E3 2020. Which was scheduled for June 9-11 in LA.
Following increased and overwhelming concerns about the COVID-19 virus, we felt this was the best way to proceed during such an unprecedented global situation. We’re very disappointed that we’re unable to hold this event for our fans and supporters. But, we know it is the right decision based on the information we have.” – The ESA
With the cancellation of E3 this year; Xbox, Ubisoft, and Limited Run Games confirmed they have plans to either explore or host their own digital events. Limited Run Games will still be hosting Press Conference on June 8 as scheduled.
