The Pokemon Company revealed that tomorrow, June 2, 2020, at 10pm JST (6amPT/9am EST/2pm BST/3pm CEST) they’re releasing more details about the Pokemon Sword & Shield expansion Pass.
The news about this has come from the company’s official Japanese Twitter account.
What we know
So far, we know that the upcoming expansion pass will bring new DLC content along with new features. This is going to be a two part expansion pass, which’ll come with two new areas: The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra. Both places will bring new items, features, and more importantly new/old pokemon.
New Areas

- Kubfu
- Fighting

- Urshifu (2nd form of Kubfu)
- Two Fighting Styles
- Single Strike (Fighting/Dark)
- Rapid Strike (Fighting/Dark)
- Two Fighting Styles


- Calyrex
- Psychic/Grass

During the recent Pokemon Direct, they confirmed that over 200 Pokemon will be returning in the two new regions. But, there is no complete list of the returning Pokemon, but here’s a glimpse of some of them.


Characters (Exclusive)
Pokemon sword players will go face to face with Klara, a poison type specialist training at the dojo of Pokemon Master Mustard.
Players that play Pokemon Shield will go against Avery, the Psychic type user which is also under Mustard’s tutelage.

Release Dates
- Part One: The Isle of Armor release date is at the end of June 2020
- Part Two: The Crown Tundra Fall 2020
Cost
Both parts of the expansion pass can be bought together for $29.99 and you can pre-purchase them right now. Players that own both games and want to access the new places for both games you’ll have to buy the expansion pass for both games.
Another thing, when you pre-purchase the pass and before it’s released players can get an early purchase bonus; a Pikachu uniform and an Eevee uniform that you can equip right away.
