Battleborn Servers Shut Down for Good
Battleborn, Gearbox’s competitive hero shooter/MOBA has officially gone offline for good on Jan 31, 2021.
According to the publisher, 2K Games earlier this month, Battleborn is completely unplayable including the single player campaign.
Battleborn blended first-person shooter gameplay with a MOBA style arenas along with the design. However, the game did have an uphill battle from the start.
Battleborn’s audience has rapidly declined almost immediately after its release. Eventhough it has received new character occasionally along with gameplay mode for the small (but dedicated) players that continued to play the game.
May 3, 2016: Game released
Sept 2016: Free to Play rumors started but then got shut down by Gearbox CEO
June 2017: Gearbox launched a substantial free trial version
Fall 2017: Gearbox released the game’s final update
Late 2019: Gearbox announced the gradual shutdown
Feb 2020: Removed the game from sale and disabling in-game purchase
