The English dub for the fantasy slice of life anime Sleepy Princess in a Demon Castle debuted on Funimation’s streaming service on Monday, Feb. 22.
This comedy series, streaming exclusively on Funimation in English and Japanese, follows Princess Syalis, a noble who is kidnapped by a demon king named Twilight and held captive in his castle. Her main objective is just to get some sleep, but that plan also goes awry.
This first dubbed episode began steaming on the 22nd, with a new episode scheduled for release every Monday. The series is 12 episodes long.
Leading the English voice cast is Kira Buckland, whose previous works include Reimi from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable and Beatrice from Re:Zero. Joining her are Alejandro Saab (Shallot/Dragonball Legends) and Bryce Papenbrook (Eren Jaegar/Attack on Titan), among others.
The series originally ran in Japan from Oct. 6 to Dec. 22, 2020. It is based on an ongoing manga series of the same name, written and illustrated by Kagiji Kumanomata.
